Explanation: When you receive notifications that an email has been opened, this technically means that the tracking pixel (that Mailtrack has added to your email) has been downloaded. This occurs around 95% of the time because the email has been opened by the main recipient but can also happen for other reasons e.g.
- The email has been forwarded to other people, who do not use Mailtrack, and so cannot be identified by our app.
- The email has been bounced around different servers.
- The recipient's mail service has processed your email multiple times.
Unfortunately, as email tracking doesn't actually form part of an email protocol, it will never be 100% reliable and can sometimes result in some strange behaviors occurring 🙁.
